WASHINGTON AP 窶 Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin denied that he is attempting to limit the choices President-elect Joe Biden will have to promote an economic recovery by ending several emergency loan programs being run by the Federal Reserve.Mnuchin said his decision was based on the fact that the programs were not being heavily utilized. He said Friday that Congress could make better use of the money by re-allocating it in another direction to support grant stanley cup s to small businesses and extended unemployment assistance. Were not trying to hinder anything, Mnuchin said in a CNBC interview. We dont need this money to buy corporate bonds. We need this money to go help small businesses that are still closed. However, critics saw politics at play in Mnuchins decision, saying the action would deprive the incoming administration of critical support the Fed might need to prop up stanley cup the economy as coronavirus infections spike nationwide. There can b stanley usa e no doubt, the Trump administration and their congressional toadies are actively trying to tank the U.S economy, Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said in a prepared statement Friday. For months, they have refused to take the steps necessary to support workers, small businesses and restaurants. As the result, the only tool at our disposal has been these facilities. Mnuchin on Thursday had written Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell announcing his decision not to extend some of the Feds emergency loan programs, which had been operating with su Wzgh Toyota Motor to close its plant in Russia

He was admitted to the hospital in cardiac arrest, and as of Monday was still in critical condition. Now 61, Tanimoto was born in Osakas Konohana Ward in 1960 as the second son among four children, in a family that ran a steel-metal factory. After graduating from high school, he worked with sheet metal, mainly for roofs and walls. He honed his skills as he moved from one factory to another, including the one run by his parents. He was a dedicated craftsman. He had the most advanced skills in the workplace, and he was a big help, recalled a now 78-year-old man who was the president of a sheet-metal factory in Yodogawa Ward, Osaka, where Tanimoto worked for about eight years from 2002.Tanimoto was not good at socializing, however, and was not close to any of his coworkers, according to the former president. THURMONT, Md. AP 窶 President Donald Trump, shelving comparisons about the size of a nuclear button, said Saturday he is open to talking with the North Korean lead stanley us er hes called Little Rocket Man and hopes some progress results from upcoming talks between the Koreas.Trump, who last year lambasted his chief diplomat for talking about negotiations with the nuclear-armed North, told reporters at Camp David that some dialogue or direct conversation with Kim Jong Un was not beyond the realm of possibility. Sure, I always believe in talking, Trump said. Absolutely I would do that, I wouldnt have a problem with that at all. But he was quick to add that any talks would come with conditions, which he did not specify. The first formal talks between North and South in more than two years are set to take place in a border town Tuesday as the rivals try to find ways to cooperate on the Winter Olympics in the South and to improve their ties. Tensions are high because of the Norths nuclear and missile programs. Right now theyre talking Olympics. Its a start, its a big start, Trump said during a question-and-answer session after meetings with GOP leaders in Congress and Cabinet members on the administrations 2018 legislative agenda.Kim knows Im not messing around. LOS ANGELES AP 窶 Hospitals in California are stanley cup so swamped by the coronavirus stanley thermos mug pandemic that the state has ordered t stanley us hose with room to accept patients from others that are out of intensive care beds. The public health order issued Tuesday night could result in patients being shipped to Northern California from Southern California and the agricultural San Joaquin Valley, where 14 counties were immediately ordered to delay nonessential and non-life threatening surgeries in order to provide beds. Arag坦n, the states public health officer. The order could be a bellwether for California, where officials have warned that some hospitals may have to start rationing care if an expected post-holiday surge in COVID-19 cases overwhelms the health care system. For much of the year, the nations most populous state did the right things to avoid a catastrophe. But now the virus is raging and California remains at or near the top of the list of states with the most newly confirmed cases per capita. Even with vaccines now being administered, albeit slowly, it is expected to take many more
