But things are a little weird this year due to <gestures>at everything]. Instead of showing off demos to excited developers in a San Jose convention hall, Apple executives will announce the latest news adidas campus 80s in a live-streamed keynote. Here are the highlights of what we expect to see at WWDC 2020. The Macs Transition to ARM It seems all but confirmed that Apple is planning to start making its own Mac processors, switching from x86-based Intel CPUs to ARM-based chips. The move makes sense: The company already puts its own ARM-based CPUs in iPhones and iPads, and it seems ready to scale that up to Macs. Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted Apple would debut a Mac with an ARM-based chip later this year, but the global covid-19 pandemic pushed that timeline back to early 2021. According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on three processors in total, each based on the A14 chip that will power this years iPhones, to power various Macs. We may even see the first one on-stage at WWDC. The early announcement would give developers ample time to start working on optimizing apps to work with the Macs new chip architecture. Apple already got the ball rolling with Catalyst, which makes it easier for iOS developers to port their apps to macOS. Given that the ARM-based Mac CPUs would share DNA with Apples iPhone adidas campus 00s proc Gpkx The World s First Clear Glass Slide Looks Like a Dream At New York Comic Con, during the Star Trek: Discovery p air force one anel, Alex Kurtzman said something that salomon Ive been thinking about a lot. He said that you couldnt do City on the Edge of Forever now, because Kirk would have to spend a whole season mourning Edith Keeler. Instantly, something in me rebelled. But City on the Edge of Forever is perfect the way it is! I thought. City of the Edge of Forever is rightly considered a classic: an episode where an out of his mind McCoy travels back in time and saves a womans life. In following him, Kirk falls for the woman, named Edith Keeler, only to discover that if she doesnt die, all of history is changed for the worse. So, he has to go back in time again and let her die. As a self-contained story, it does everything that it needs to do. Theres a part of me that feels that focusing on the aftermath for any significant period of time would dilute the effectiveness of the episode. And while it would be more realistic for Kirk to spend more time devastated, the point of the episode窶敗acrifice for the common good窶背ould be lost because it would instead have to focus on a completely different point, namely the effect of trauma on Kirk. Wed be sacrificing one truth for another. For one reason or another, Ive been thinking a lot about Star Trek lately. The MagSafe Mount seems like it could be the simplest and most brute-force way to improve the usability of Apples MagSafe Charger without physically attaching the puck to the surface of a desk or a nightstand. A recent investigation shows that two-thirds of the reef is now a sickly white hue, and its not immediately clear if the iconic ecosystem will ever bounce back to its former glory. Scientists Terry Hughes and James Kerry with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies recently completed under water and aerial scans of 800 coral sections along 900 miles 1,500 km of the Great Barrier Reef, finding that the middle third of the reef has been ravaged by an intense coral bleaching event. Obtc Valentine s Day Gifts to Ensure You re Single on Feb. 15 The Natural History Museum of London has disqualified a winning image from its 2017 Photographer of the Year yeezy competition on the grounds that the photographer almost certainlyツused a stuffed anteater窶蚤 blatant violation of the contest rules. It was a photograph that looked too good to be true. As we wrote back on October 18, 2017, when the award was announced: Theres a lot going on in this photo taken by Marcio Cabral in Brazils Cerrado region. Click beetle larvae embedded on the outer layers of the termite mounds are glowing in a bioluminiscent green, which they do to lure in their prey窶杷lying termites. Meanwhile, a giant anteater is also going for the termites, sticking its snout and nose into the mound to reach the termites inside. The photo, titled The Night Raider, took top air max 1 prize in the NHMs 2017 Animals in their Environment category, but after a careful and thorough investigation into the image, the Natural History Museum has decided to disqualify it from last years competition. The reason, according to the museum, is that it is highly likely Cabral used a taxidermied specimen of an anteater in the phot asics outlets o. Thats against contest rules, which state that, Entries must not deceive the viewer or attempt to misrepresent the reality of nature. The NHM launched an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip in March. Five experts were brought in, including a taxidermy expert, three mammal experts, and an anteater specialist.
